We’re delighted to confirm the appointment of Chris Tresadern as ITD Global’s new CRO. Following a comprehensive recruitment exercise, Chris is, without doubt, the best person for the job, bringing with him a vast wealth of experience from over 30 years within the delivery industry.
Chris has a shining track record, being pivotal in the transformation of Tuffnells during his 12 years there, growing revenues by over £130 million whilst increasing margin and improving customer experience. He has held various key positions in both Sales, Commercial, and Operations at Board level, gaining a level of industry knowledge matched by few.
As Chief Revenue Officer, Chris takes responsibility for all Commercial activities at ITD, including heading up the Sales and Account Management teams. He’s been charged with driving the business forward by developing new and existing revenue streams both domestically and internationally, confirming ITD Global’s market proposition and value-added credentials. A challenge he can’t wait to get his teeth into!

During her four and a half years at ITD Global, Dalya has progressed from Key Account Manager to Freight Operations Manager, bringing a passion and a dedication to looking after her clients and growing the business.
With a background in Buying and Merchandising, Dalya has been able to transfer her people and negotiation skills to what looks set to be a long and successful career in the freight forwarding industry.
While Dalya was pipped to the post at the awards, which culminated in a glittering luncheon ceremony on Thursday 19th January in the City of London, we heartily applaud Dalya for beating off stiff competition to reach a coveted finalist place.

Peak season starts as early as October and runs all the way through to the new year in a period that encompasses Halloween, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, Christmas and Hanukkah. Phew!
While 2021 was a peak year for eCommerce sales due to Covid causing many bricks and mortar stores to close, 2022 faces its own challenges in the form of uncertainty in the parcel delivery market on top of demand going through the roof.
At a time when customers are more demanding than ever, expecting fast and free delivery, next day options and easy returns as standard, it’s never been more critical to meet their needs. And we all know how quickly a poor customer experience can deter future sales – and how much more expensive it is to win new customers compared to keeping a current one.

While no one can ever forecast completely accurately, it’s essential to analyse your previous years’ data as much as possible to try and be prepared for sales demand. <h1>Bladed &amp; Corrosive Legislation Changes</h1>
Important new rules impacting how bladed and corrosive products are allowed to be sold and delivered to UK recipients.
As you may know, the Offensive Weapons Act 2019 comes into force from 6 April 2022 (TBC) and includes a number of measures to tackle serious violence.
The key areas that affect you as a UPS customer are about ensuring bladed products (i.e. knives) and corrosive products are only sold and delivered to adults aged 18 and over:
<h2>Bladed products</h2>
<ul>
<li>  It is forbidden to sell and deliver bladed products to someone at a residential address without verifying that they are over 18 years of age</li>
</ul>
<h2>Corrosive products</h2>
It is forbidden to deliver corrosive products to a person of any age via a residential addresses or alternative delivery location (e.g. a UPS Access Point)
It is forbidden to sell and deliver corrosive products to a person at a business address without verifying that they are over 18 years of age
<h2>Here’s what you need to do:</h2>
<ol>
<li>Get familiar with the new legislation and definitions</li>
</ol>

<li>Clearly label your parcels</li>
</ol>
All domestic and international parcels containing a bladed product that requires age verification (see below) must be clearly labelled.
Additionally, when placing your shipment please use the description field of your UPS shipping application to state the contents of the package.

<li>Use our “Adult Signature Required” service</li>
</ol>
You must select the value-added UPS service “<a href="https://www.ups.com/gb/en/shipping/services/value-added/delivery-confirmation.page">Adult Signature Required</a>” in the cases highlighted below. We will then obtain the adult recipient&#8217;s signature and provide you with a printed copy.
This table outlines the instances where an adult signature is or is not required, or if the delivery itself is not allowed:

Bladed & Corrosive Legislation Changes

HMRC has scheduled the long-awaited closure of the Customs Handling of Import and Export Freight (CHIEF) system for Imports in September 2022 and Exports in March 2023.
This will be replaced by the new Customs Declaration Service (CDS) for all declarations of goods departing from and arriving into Great Britain
Ahead of the 31 March 2023 complete closure, services on CHIEF will be withdrawn in two stages:
<ul>
<li>30 September 2022: Import declarations close on CHIEF</li>
<li>31 March 2023: Export declarations close on CHIEF / National Exports System (NES)</li>
</ul>
<h2>What do we need to do next?</h2>
To move forward together we need Importers to embrace CDS and get themselves registered and familiar ahead of the implementation date. We would encourage you to set up a Deferment account (DAN) if you do not already have one. It is much easier to register for a DAN due to the introduction of CDS and will be a lot simpler moving forward.
1)     Subscribe to the CDS Service through your Government Gateway. (Step-by-step video below)
2)     Set up a new Direct Debit instruction for CDS. Please do not cancel your existing Direct Debit instruction for CHIEF. (Step-by-step video below)
3)     Set up standing authority for CDS. Please ensure you list Harbour Shipping (EORI GB378038429000), Courier Network Ltd (GB851220561000) and Interdelta Ltd (EORI GB837879951000). (Step-by-step video below)

If you do not wish to get a DAN, then you can apply for a Cash Account which can be used in a similar way to a DAN by depositing funds in to it and drawing down on them to cover Import Entries. However, if you do not have enough cleared funds at the time the Entry is made, you will have to make an Immediate Payment (formerly known as a FAS payment).
There will still be the option of using the Immediate Payment scheme to pay for all Duties and Taxes (formerly known as a FAS payment)

What is Customs Declaration Service (CDS) and when does it come into force?

Sending any of the items below in a shipment could result in criminal prosecution and incur additional charges to your parcel delivery.
It is very important when sending a parcel anywhere in the world that you ensure your parcel does not include any of the following:

<li>Any goods prohibited by the law or regulation of any government or public or local authority of any country where the goods are carried by parcel are not allowed.</li>
<li>Packages that are wet, leaking or emit an odour of any kind</li>
</ul>
<h2>Restricted Items</h2>
The following items are deemed unsuitable for shipment by our services and are therefore restricted. Any of these items being sent may result in surcharges, delays or confiscation by authorities in some countries where appropriate. No transit cover or guarantees whatsoever will apply to these items. These items are sent at your own risk.
